Motor broke within a day, no warranty.The vendor sent me a link to pay them for their defective motor: https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/awnluxpro The motor blew a fuse while retracting the awning on the second day. If I bought a replacement motor, how long would that last? Replace the $200 motor upon retraction every day? Page 12 of the manual implies for you to expect the motor to fail. Page 13 explains their engineering specifications that would cause motor failure for typical RV usage. There are a number of items reducing the functionality of this product. Most of them are engineering design faults. The two main issues are that the awning will not tilt and the poorly engineered motor is designed to fail. After obtaining this product, on a single page of the product manual, I could see that they are aware of these issues. Attached please find that page stating that you cannot use the awning tilted and that they expect the motor to fail. On their website, they list the replacement proice of the motor to b $200. On Amazon, you can find a number of awning motors for less than $50. These significantly less expensive motors all have current limiters designed such that fuses will never blow and the motor will NOT fail. You can not tilt this awning because it will not close tilted. If it won't close tilted then you can't use a wind sensor to close automatically in case of high winds. I asked about their wind sensors and they said they are working on it and might have that product available in the spring of 2026. So I purchased this product expecting to add the wind sensor at that time. Other awnings that I have owned I could either set the tilt then retract it and extend it and the tilt will stay as I had adjusted it or I could tilt it every time and if the wind blows it will retract and automatically unset the tilt. All other awnings that I have owned, the motor has a current limiter on it. Therefore, it will never blow a fuse. If it limits the current then the motor windings will not short out. Instead of designing with a current limiter, they have designed with a manual cranking handle expecting the motor to fail. On page 12 of the manual, it shows you to NOT tilt the awning AND says you have a manual crank to use when the motor fails. On page 13 of the manual it states that the voltage to the motor must be between 11 and 13 volts. A fully charged 12-volt car battery should measure between 12.6 and 12.8 volts when the engine is off. When the engine is running, the alternator charges the battery, and the voltage reading will be higher, typically between 13.7 and 14.7 volts. This means that the motor needs to operate nominally up to at least 15 volts. I measured my voltage to be 13.6 volts which is similar to a car running as the motorhome is always trickle charging the batteries. The requirement that the motor voltage be between 11 and 13 volts means that this awning will NOT work on any car or RV with '12' volt batteries. Hence the motor WILL fail under nominal operating conditions. Furthermore, the manual states to keep your RV plugged into 110 volt shore power to make sure the battery is being charged, which will ensure that the voltage will exceed their voltage requirement thereby causing the motor to fail. "EASY TO INSTALL — Our assembly contains all the parts needed for installation." The manual says 2-3 people are required for installation. That does not sound easy. Instructions say to apply structural adhesive to the arms prior to installation. That adhesive is NOT a part included. Furthermore, structural adhesive is not listed in the manual as a required resources such as screwdriver, etc. were listed.
